CRaFT Corner
A space where participants can participate in fun, meaningful activities and get the tools to continue creating outside of the sessions
Craft Corner was a four-week project I facilitated at the Hafan-y-coed Adult Mental Health Unit. The project focused on creating fun, engaging, and meaningful activities that prioritize the act of creatively engaging rather than a specific outcome. Each week, there were two sessions, one structured and one based on participant suggestions. A vital aim of this project was to foster participants’ self-esteem and self-efficacy, so it was essential to create an environment in which there was no “correct” way to make.
The majority of this project took place in the Cwtch (activities room) in Hafan-y-Coed. It was a pleasure to work with the wonderful staff and participants, and if you want to see what is currently going on in the Cwtch, head to their Instagram.
